If you enjoyed the first HU LitFest in April, the good news is that you don’t have to wait till next April for the next installment! We’ll be holding a pop-up mini HULF at the Hawkesbury Horticultural Show on Saturday 29th August, from noon until 5ish. In our mini marquee next to the St Mary’s Pimm’s tent (great position!), authors will give impromptu readings of their work and signing copies of their books for sale. We’ll also have some children’s events and activities going on – more news of those to follow shortly.

Anthology Launch

Also on sale will be our brand new anthology that will include samples of work by all the authors and poets who took part in the 2015 Festival. All profits will go towards funding the cost of the 2016 event (23rd April 2016, to be precise), and to help us keep the Festival a free event for all.

About the Village Show

The Hawkesbury Horticultural Show has been running for well over a century, and is the oldest event of its kind in the country. Every year it attracts thousands of visitors to enjoy the carnival parade, the entertainments in the arena, the funfair and the amazing display of produce and crafts in the big marquee. The day ends with an auction of any produce donated to raise funds for the Show, and provides excellent entertainment in itself!
