Other Festivals We Love

We’re happy to work together with other small local like-minded festivals to share the great work we all do!

NB We’re listing the events here in alphabetical order by title, rather than by date.

EVESHAM FESTIVAL OF WORDS (30th June-2nd July)
www.eveshamfestivalofwords.org

The Evesham Festival of Words is a celebration of words in all its forms (written, spoken, sung) and will offer plenty for all the family. With events taking place at a range of venues throughout the town, at a range of prices, there really will be something for everybody.

STROUD SHORT STORIES
www.stroudshortstories.blogspot.co.uk

Held twice a year, this is a regional celebration of the art of the short story. It’s renowned for its eclectic mix of stories and its nurturing role to new, unpublished authors.

Authors who live in Gloucestershire or South Gloucestershire, or who have some connection with it (e.g. born there but moved away) are welcome to enter, free of charge, a short story on any theme of 1500 words or fewer. The authors of the ten stories selected by the judges will then read their stories before an audience in a special story evening in Stroud at the Stroud Valley Artspace. NB You must be available that night in order to enter.

SSS organiser John Holland is a regular guest author at the Hawkesbury Upton Literature Festival, and Hawkesbury Festival founder Debbie Young is a guest judge for the Autumn SSS event.
