To keep the momentum going between our annual April festivals, and to promote the event to a wider audience, we run an informal Pop-Up LitFest in our mini marquee at the Hawkesbury Horticultural Show – the biggest social event in our community, attended by thousands of people of all ages each year.

It’s a great opportunity to meet our authors and talk about their books – or, if you’re interested in writing books yourself, to ask their advice.
Taking place on the last Saturday in August each year, it’s a classic English village show, and the longest running event of its kind, with a carnival parade in fancy dress; a huge marquee full of prize-winning vegetables, fruit, flowers, baking and crafts; entertainments in an open-air arena; a funfair and plenty of refreshments.
